Multnomah County Fair at Oaks Park in Portland. Here’s an
opportunity for all my students to showcase their talents. You
can sing with CDs, keyboard, or guitar, and I may be able to
hire musicians to accompany you as well.
June 4-6, Strawberry Festival Karaoke Contest. They usually have
prelims before the contest and the contest at the Festival. Check online for information. Amateur performers only.
July 4, Star Spangled Celebration Karaoke Contest. A fun contest, all
	In one day in Lebanon.
July 8-11, Marion County Fair Talent Show. Performers from all
	counties are welcome to compete.
August 4-8, Benton County Fair Karaoke Contest and Talent Contest.
The talent contest is only open to Benton County residents, but
the karaoke contest is open to everyone. The karaoke contest
has prelims before the fair on Wednesdays in July at
	Woodstock’s Pizza in Corvallis.
August 12-15, Polk County Fair Talent Show. Performers from all
	counties are welcome to compete.
August 27-29, Northwest Art & Air Festival in Albany. Another
opportunity for all my students to perform whatever they
want—any style, with CDs or instruments. We often have
limited time, though, so everyone may not be able to sing as
	many songs as they’d like.

Keep checking back for more opportunities!! I haven’t scheduled the Corvallis Artisans’ Market yet and I’m still waiting on the Philomath Frolic, the Jefferson Mint Festival and lots more!!! Plus, I’ll schedule more dates at Lebanon Coffee House and our first at Rick’s Place (see article above).
Text Box: The annual classical recital has been postponed until March 12th! Not very many of my students sing classical music, but I do recommend at least some classical singing for all students. It’s one of those “good for you” things. A recital is a no-pressure opportunity to show what we have learned about classical music. This year I will be requiring that the music be classical, but you may sing in English. Young students and beginners may choose folk songs or a classical art song. I recommend that all students (even all of my beginning adult students!) participate.

I’m restarting my monthly lecture series! They will usually be held on the last Friday evening of the month at my studio from 6 to 8 pm. The topic will be generally about the music business. It’s free for current students and $5 for all others. (Parents of under-age students are also free.) Check out my Seminars & Classes page for more information.

Again, I’m lining up performance opportunities for the year. Here are the ones we’ve been doing for years that I’m working on getting us into again: Corvallis Artisans’ Market, Marion County Fair, Multnomah County Fair (maybe with a band this year?), the Northwest Art & Air Festival and the Philomath Frolic & Rodeo’s Holiday Craft Fair. We did the Jefferson Mint Festival last year, but I don’t know if they are going to have a second stage this year. If you know of an event that would like entertainment, let me know.

I’m on Facebook now (Patricia Nelson Feltmann), so send me a friend request! It’s a lot of my family and friend stuff, but I put band and teaching stuff of there, too. It’s an easy way to contact me.
